To Do Thanksgiving or Not To Do Thanksgiving in Milan

To Do Thanksgiving or Not To Do Thanksgiving in Milan

To Do Thanksgiving or Not To Do Thanksgiving in Milan …that is the question…

I absolutely love Thanksgiving. If you guys have been reading this blog for a few years now, you’d know that it’s by far my favorite American holiday and it’s my second favorite holiday (only to Christmas) in general.

Over the past few years, in one way or the other, I’ve celebrated the holiday with a bang. There was the year I, along with my dear friend and chef, Vanusa, organized a huge farm-to-table dinner at a biodynamic organic farm outside of Milan. Last year with a baby just a few months old I did not one but two Friendsgiving dinners—one on Thanksgiving Day and the other on the following Saturday.

This year I kind of made a big mess of things. I think (okay I know) I was a little stressed out because this was my first year back to work with a little guy…I swore, up and down that Thanksgiving this year was on Thursday, November 21 instead of on the 28th…and now I’m going to be traveling and working pretty much the entire week.

That said, I love Thanksgiving so much I’m wondering if I should do it anyway and invite you guys along—just not on Thanksgiving Day. I’m thinking, the Sunday before Thanksgiving on November 24th.

What do you guys think? Would you be interested in doing something like that, even if it’s technically not on Thanksgiving Day?

As every year, I’d organize a line up of superbly prepared goodies made with love using only premium ingredients. Think super moist herb-brined turkey, my world-famous homemade apple pie, my completely made-from-scratch pumpkin pie (yep completely – I even home roast the pumpkin that goes into the pie), and a few delicious sides that have yet to be determined like mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc.

So if you’re interested, send me an email to infocom or write me a comment below, and if enough people are interested, we can celebrate Thanksgiving a few days early, but together.

Xo,

Thea

PS. Just in case you’re wondering here’s what some of the people who’ve attended my past Thanksgiving dinners had to say.

“Hey Thea, wanted to say thank you one more time. I appreciate you guys opening your home to me on thanksgiving. I really felt welcome. The food was great and the company even better.” - Tamas S.

“Dear Thea, thank you both so much for a lovely evening, for making me so welcome and for the delicious turkey!!” - Karmen S.
