An Italian Christmas Gift Guide for Lovers of Italian Quality
Hopefully, you’ve already seen Part One of my Christmas Gift Guide, an Italian Gift Guide for Foodies! If you haven’t though (and you totally should!), let me catch you up.
After all that 2020 has thrown at us, I really believe we could all do with a little Christmas cheer. Of course, I know it’s hard when you’re separated from family or can’t have a big family Christmas, but that’s all the more reason to give generous and thoughtful gifts to the people we love. The question is – where do you find these gifts, especially for that person in our lives who seems to have everything or is just notoriously hard to buy for!
While my Foodie Gift Guide was for all the food lovers in your life, this gift guide has something for everyone else! From sweaters to bags, beautiful luxury soaps to leather dressed Vespas. And you guessed it, all of these products are artisan-made, right here in Italy.
Doing Italy’s Favorite Things: An Italian Christmas Gift Guide
Artknit Studios
Artknit Studios make the most luxurious, sustainable knitwear for surprisingly affordable prices. Their designs are timeless, made-to-order, and created with the principles of zero waste. Truly, there are so many wonderful things I could say about this brand (which I did in this blog post about them last year), but your best bet is to see for yourself! Perhaps you could order one for you, and one for a friend!
Thierry Rabotin
Thierry Rabotin is another brand close to Doing Italy’s heart, having collaborated with them on a recent collection! These shoes are made in Italy using traditional techniques that don’t use any solid or inflexible elements. The result is like walking on air, and – as can be expected with Italian design – the shoes are truly beautiful as well. In this picture me and a few other spectacular ladies are wearing Fifty-12, their new sneaker line.
Fatto Bene
If you happen to know someone who’s a lover of all things Italy as well as a lover of design, then Fatto Bene is the store for you. This family-run store is devoted to curating iconic Italian designs in a range of price points, from as little as €1 (really!). Each item is truly beautiful, and most of them are functional, as well.
Elisabetta Fallaci Ponte Vecchio
Florence’s Ponte Vecchio is known across the world for its luxury jewelers, and Elisabetta Fallaci is my personal favorite. Her designs are unique and intricate, and would make a breathtaking gift for that somebody special over Christmas.
Antica Barbieria Colla
What about the men in your life, I hear you ask? Look no further than Milan’s historic Antica Barbieria Colla. Their beautiful products will bring a touch of Italian class, slow-living, and self-care to any man’s grooming routine, and they’ll look beautiful in your bathroom, as well.
Bottega Conticelli
For lovers of luxury, and lovers of Italian leather, you cannot go past Bottega Conticelli. Bottega Conticelli creates beautiful pieces for interiors, offices, and more. Their range includes custom leather-dressed Vespas, ready-to-wear bags, and luxe leather baskets.
Digerolamo
Florence is famous for many reasons, not least of which being their rich history of leather craftsmanship. Digerolamo is one of Florence’s longstanding leather artisans, creating small batches of handmade, ethically produced handbags, that are timeless, unique and beautiful.
Laboratorio Paravicini
What’s the point of having delicious food if you don’t have beautiful ceramics to eat them from! Laboratorio Paravicini, based in the heart of Milan’s historic center, creates bespoke, hand painted plates and truly delightful ceramic collections. Their unique designs are made using traditional Italian techniques, and are a delightful mix of playful and elegant.
Doing Italy Recommends: Italian Views Collection
If you’re craving the nostalgia of Italy, you can’t go past the Italian Views collection. A series of classic Italian vistas are painted in red and blue tones, that will take you right back to your favorite Italian holiday. Other favorites of mine include the Play Plates collection and the Hot Air Balloons collection.
Chianti Cashmere: Goats Milk Soap
Chianti Cashmere is a stunning agriturismo nestled between Tuscany’s hills. While the pandemic has made it hard to stay there, you can gift a piece of Tuscany to your loved ones with their gorgeous Cashmere Goats Milk Soap.
